Morgan Park United Methodist Church 138th Anniversary Celebration Sunday, May 25th, 2025 Morgan Park United Methodist Church held its first Sunday service on May 22nd, 1887, with forty-two persons in attendance. The church was formed at the urging of a devout Methodist, Dr.William Henry German, aided by another founding member, Frank Robinson. The congregation built their first church at Prospect and Homewood Avenues, at a cost of $2,000.00.
